The 6th Santos Offshore Oil & Gas Expo, 2012, has always been very successful with its visitors since 2007. Traditionally held in Mendes Convention Center in the city of Santos, the event is now established as the main business meeting place for companies that operate in the Santos Basin.
Being the largest service provider and product supplier in the Oil and Gas market, the State of Sao Paulo has recently enjoyed a special incentive for sector development in light of the findings in the Santos Basin, particularly in the Pre-Salt layer. Working to generate business between E&P suppliers and investors in the region, Santos Offshore is now the ideal place to meet and present the latest innovations to the industry.
The event was acquired by Reed Exhibitions, the largest national and international organizer of fairs and events, in 2011. It now also has the support of IBP for the first time. These factors, combined with various strategic partnerships with industry bodies, ensure that a high quality event is delivered to the participants once more.

The City of Santos
Santos was originally known for its harbor which became the largest in Latin America in the early twentieth century. It was the main gateway for goods to be imported and exported. It’s also known for Santos Football Club, Pele’s team. Today it’s the largest coastal city in the state of São Paulo and has an excellent structure for trade and services, getting the attention of the pre-salt layer.
Petrobras decided to set up a network of businesses for the Santos Basin in the historic city center and changes in the oil and gas industry has already been highlighted in Santos, with new businesses facilities and supplier investment in the industry.
The city has also preserved its dense Atlantic Forest which guarantees eco adventure tourism. It’s also one of Brazil’s best diving destinations. It has the largest continuous garden in the world, with 5.3km of gardens on the beach front with a bicycle path along its entire length. The city attracts national and international tourists with its pleasant museums, historic buildings, churches, the port itself and many other tourist sites.
Santos is versatile, historic and modern all at the same time. Since 2007 it has hosted the largest oil and gas event in the State of São Paulo: Santos Offshore.
